August 2010 General Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 3:03 by club President, Janet Mohr. Janet welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked the members for their many cards and well wishes during recent recovery.
Janet announced she is the chairperson for PC and the Singles Club for the Relay for Life scheduled October 2nd and 3rd. Sign up sheets will be available soon for walkers.
Vice-president, Mary Cieszynski acknowledged the members with August birthdays. Two new members were in attendance: Donna Malinowski and Marilyn Tripodi. Guests were Violet Walden and Bridget Karlstad.
Claudia Lancaster, filling in for Secretary Elaine Yielding, called for and received approval of the July 2010 minutes.
Treasurer, Mollie McErlean, reported we began July with a balance of $1,934.36 and ended the month with $1,942.44.
Dan Miczek, Web Administrator, thanked Marie Minns for her efforts as interim Web Administrator. Dan described many improvements he is making to the web site. All upcoming activities are now in one location and in event date sequence. Sign-ups are also in date sequence. Pictures of past events are now back on the web. Members can expect to receive an email reminder for activities for which they have not yet paid and the closing date is impending. Members will also receive an email reminder a couple of days before an activity. Member rosters will soon be available upon request. The roster will NOT be on the web.
Bonnie Hulson provided information on upcoming recurring events. New events that are scheduled are the Mining and Mineral Museum which Bonnie described as beautiful and fascinating. Also coming soon is a trip on the Dolly Steamboat where we should see a lot of native wildlife.
Dan Miczek described new games the Activities Committee is considering. They are Trivial Pursuit and Pinochle.
Rex Hedges discussed the trip to the new Musical Instrument Museum. Rex also described a potential organic farm tour to determine if there is interest in such a tour.
Bonnie reminded us of the Spuds and Suds Chili Cook-off in September. Contact Marie Marlier for instructions for the chili cook-off.
Kristi Littlefield described an upcoming PC community event to see if there was interest in reserving a Singles table. Thaddeus Rose who performs at the Wigwam will be in PC on August 20th for a special free performance (changed in the weekly email update to tell us PC made it a $3 charge).
Bonnie and Dan performed an entertaining skit luring a number of members to immediately signup for the mystery night Murder at the Juice Joint coming in October.
Claudia Lancaster had no update for Publicity.
